At Glynk, we have always seen communities as great places to learn. People learn a lot faster by explaining their ideas to others and by participating in activities where they can learn from each other. Over the last few months, we have built things that allow your members to do this, and we couldn’t be happier with the response we have been getting.
With knowledge in your community constantly growing, there is a need now to structure and organise it better. Traditionally knowledge base has been the place to host all structured information, mostly written by a few people within the organization. However, when community and knowledge base work together, a number of possibilities emerge which could absolutely change the game for you. The combination of community and knowledge base, means you have both customer and internal knowledge covered - and a space to record them both. This ensures that great customer insights keep getting added to the knowledge base with little effort from your team 🤯
We have designed knowledge base keeping needs of the modern user in mind. We want the era of snoozy knowledge centers to be over, and for a new era to dawn where knowledge consumption is delightful and fun. With the first version, we have done just that. We can’t wait to show you the new things we are building here.
Glynk has been a result of collaborative effort. We can’t thank you all enough for always pitching in with your ideas. We would love to hear from you on how we can make knowledge base better, both for your team and your members.
Here are a few things you can do with your knowledge base:
Organize your articles into categories. You can create unlimited categories and add unlimited articles within a category.
Feature up to 5 categories, and they will show up in the featured section. Use it to show the most frequently visited categories or new categories where you’d like your members to visit.
Articles will appear in the order in which you arrange them. Just drag the categories to reposition and rank them.
If you don’t want an article to be indexed, you can just switch off indexing it. You can also turn off comments for any article.
Other Updates
Add to Calendar: Your members will never miss an event now by just adding the events to their calendars. Community owners tell us that they are already seeing an increase in the number of people actually attending their events.
Code Snippets: You can now add code snippets to your questions and answers. We have also made it really easy for you to copy code.
Sorting on Console: You can now sort the columns in your console that are critical to you. Sort members by reputation points, posts by likes, topics by followers - everything you need to see what is working and what is not.
Manage Appearance from Console: You can now manage logos, favicons, open graph previews from your console itself. We are seeing innovative ways in which community owners are giving a spin to their logos and cover images based on the mood of the month. We’re sorry that we didn’t make it this easy a little earlier!
Comment till you are satisfied: Yes, we heard you. There won’t be any limit on how much you can type when you comment. Express yourself freely, speak your mind.
